Part I addresses the phenomenon of anxiety and the various bio-psychosocial stressors individuals are exposed to which would contribute to their levels of anxiety. It explores how various personality types deal with anxiety on a daily basis. We live in a world characterised by rapid change and heightened anxiety. The module explores the various coping skills required to in manage and alleviate ongoing anxiety. This awareness is very important and serves to assist professionals in monitoring their ongoing coping in order to provide optimal quality of care and to prevent burnout. The link between the mind and the body and our emotional states and symptomatology is clearly evident throughout the module
